January 2007 - Jonah-nearly 3 and Jude-9 months

(this is sad..it's been four months since I have posted.)

I can't believe I'm so late in getting back to this..actually I can. That's how my life has been for the last nearly three years..longer than that..about five years..around the time we started the church. I digress. This is Jonah around Christmas making cookies with MawMaw and Jocelyn, his cousin who is 6 months older than him. (She's my sister's oldest daughter..Jean Claire is her youngest..I'll post a photo of her later.)

This is the two of them with my dad. He had to have a heart stint put in one of his bypasses (he had six bypasses 14 years ago) on Friday of this week. I'm so thankful he's alright. He's home now and should be back to normal in about a week. Unfortunately, heart disease runs in his side of my family. I'm hoping I inherited my mother's genes in that regard. My dad is a class act. I'm not sure what I would do without him...I have two incredible parents.

Mwah.

This little guy has stolen my heart. Well, Jonah did too. Jude is so loving and yet, he has a funny little temper. He's crawling, pulling up on everything, into everything and he's getting enough hair to actually comb now. I'm still nursing but he is able to eat a little too. He likes hot cereal so I feed him oatmeal with brown sugar and maple syrup...the little bags of instant stuff. Have you tasted the stuff they give to them in the baby boxes?? It's awful. I think baby food is pretty much a waste of money. He loves fruit too..and bread. I cannot believe how big he's getting.

Look at this little cutie..he's so smart. His little mind is like a sponge. He has memorized five scripture verses and knows the references fairly well. He's also in love with music. We bought him a real drum set for Christmas (junior set) and a guitar also. He loves them. He likes to go drag Lesh's guitar out of his office and bring it to him and say "Let's play our guitars." Lesh is amused other than having his guitar dragged around by a two year old. Lesh dabbles with the guitar. He knows a few jazz chords and I always get warm and fuzzy feelings for him when he plays them. Actually, the first night I ever spoke to Lesh on the phone, he played guitar for me (over the phone) so I guess I'm a sucker for acoustic guitars...and kind hearts. I have a wonderful husband. Jonah says that all the time now.." Daddy's you husband" Too cute. I also taught him another amusing little sketch. It goes something like this.
Me to Jonah - "How did you get so smart?"
Jonah's reply - "My momma" (with this sing song little southern accent)
Me to Jonah - "How did you get so good looking?"
Jonah's reply with more intensity - "My momma" (smiling..because he knows what we're working up to.)
Me to Jonah - "How did you get so stinky?"
Jonah's exuberant reply - "My daddy!" (to which I just die off laughing)
Lesh isn't completely amused by this whole exchange...understandably.
I'm so blessed..little Johnny Cash. haha That's what my mom calls him when he wears this black sweater with his black corduroy pants.
One of his Christmas gifts from me..probably the cheapest and he's still having so much fun with it.
Lesh and I with one of the most incredible trumpet players ever!! Chris Botti!! We went on a super fun date to his concert last night and we had private reception tickets to get in and meet him and get autographs and pics..it was a once in a lifetime experience and just such a fun night. He signed a DVD for us to Jonah..Jonah will really appreciate that in years to come. The pic was for us. :) His band was phenomenal..inspiring..energizing. I love jazz..I enjoyed it so much..Lesh said he did too. I think only meeting Brian McKnight or someone like that could top that for me...as far as meeting famous people go. (Lesh hates this picture of himself by the way..he looked like he had had too much candy to eat..hehe!!)

September 2006 - Jonah-2 and Jude 5 months

This little guy is the most snuggly little bear in the whole world. He's with me constantly and I love it..most of the time! :)He sleeps with us because he's nursing and I'm trying to enjoy every precious moment with him. He's doing new things everyday and just amazes me at how fast he's growing. He has the most beautiful blue eyes..and they are huge! He also sucks on two fingers like his brother..different fingers though.

Precious.

Mom, I'm getting hungry...

Jonah is getting so grown up I could cry. He's handsome, as smart as can be and is so fun to converse with. He says something new everyday. This week he's saying "scared" a lot. I didn't even know he knew what that word meant. He also repeats everything he hears.."Scary!" haha He's a people person and rarely meets a stranger. He thinks everyone knows him and likes talking to him. I'm never going to tell him different. He loves to play with cars and his "Hummin truck". Little boys must come with something in their DNA that says they have to like automobiles..he loves my father's bobcat (ground moving machine) too. Pawpaw gives him a ride in it sometimes. My parents bought him a little toy bobcat for christmas last year too. He absolutely loves it. He calls my father's motorcycle a "motor bi-cycle". It's cute. He rides down the hill in our back yard on his bike which is a three wheeled plastic thing..similar to the old big wheels. He's quite the dare devil. He's learned to lift his feet so that he sails along. Sometimes I just don't watch. He's only 2..I don't want to think about what he'll be doing as a teen. He also likes wearing these black dress shoes with everything. They are velcro so they are easy for him to put on. :) He's also learning titles and he calls himself "Uncle Jonah". It's pretty hilarious.

He was only posing for us so we would give him a sucker. He's in love with suckers...any candy really. Especially mints. He's known at church for raiding the mint bowl. Most are forgiving..although his honorary Aunt Anita told him to put them back the other night with her "meanie" voice..hehe. I'm glad someone else is looking out for him! I don't want him to be spoiled rotten.

He finally won out...hence the yellow sucker. This is a priceless photo. I was making funny faces at them to get them to smile. They love to laugh and Jude loves to laugh at Jonah. It's cute..Jonah is a wonderful big brother. He's very gentle with Jude. I hope they'll be best of friends. I sure love my brother and sister...what a gift your siblings are.

Transferring www.jonahandjude.com

In order to make posting easier, I am transferring data and images from www.jonahandjude.com to this blogger site. Eventually, it will point to this site, but for now, the address will be jonahandjude.blogspot.com.

This site was created as a way for me to keep an on-line journal/scrapbook or "blog of sorts" to document the lives of my two sons, Jonah and Jude. (There's a little about Lesh and I in it also.) I love the concept of scrap booking but I don't have the patience or time to glue and cut and such. However, graphic design and writing are a hobby for me, even therapeutic, so I thought an on-line scrapbook might be just the ticket..especially since my baby books are pretty much untouched. Beyond that, I have two grandmothers (Jonah's and Jude's grandmothers..that is), family, and friends always asking for new pictures. This is a way for me to keep everyone happy and on the same page - thus eliminating email and downloading worries. Check back as often as you like..I'll do my best to keep the postings current.
